There’s a split forming inside software teams, and it isn’t the one people expected. In this episode we look at the line opening up between developers who’ve folded AI into how they work and those who’ve refused — and why it’s about willingness, not talent.

We’re even-handed about it: the refusers are often excellent, and resenting the hype is fair. But we get into the trap in “the tool is flawed, therefore I’ll ignore it”, and why the engineers pulling ahead are the ones who learned it well enough to know exactly where it’s wrong.

We also look at how managers get this wrong by mandating adoption and counting usage, when the thing they actually want is judgement — which you can’t dashboard into existence.
